Just reporting in. I'm using the library computer during my three hour break. There's no point in going home between my shifts when I work doubles, so I've been hanging out here. Plus this internet is really fast, and I can bid/pay here. Our computer freaked out about three days ago and decided that we can no longer log onto sites like ebay. And no one can pay for anything online. I have a sneaky suspicion that this coincides with my youngest brother's discovery of online pron. Those sites kill your computer if you click on the wrong stuff. I know from when JP had his similar fling ^^; Jo, however, is almost completely computer illiterate and doesn't know a virus from a program, so there's no telling. It is, however, disturbing when I turn on the computer in the morning and the printer starts shooting out unfinished print jobs of skanky nekkid girls in raunchy positions -_-
So I'm content with the library computer. I'm also reading the new Harry Potter, and I'm enjoying it more than I did book 5, which was good but a little too bleak for me. I know someone's gonna die and I have a fair guess of who, but we'll see. I'm a little over halfway through. Sometimes I think it's a shame to zoom through books like this so fast, but what can you do?
My grandpa died on Friday morning, but it's not as though we didn't see it coming. I didn't go see him in the hospital after that one time, but my mom said it was better that I didn't. He didn't want to be kept alive, so we decided not to have a feeding tube put in (which in Alzheimer's patients tends to get seriously infected anyway). So he was pretty gaunt in the end there. I got off work Friday night (after the manager called and asked where I was; I didn't even know I was supposed to be there ^^;) and on Saturday for the funeral. It was a good funeral, short and sweet. We were all a little teary-eyed, but this has been four years in the coming and it was so hard to watch him in the end that this just seemed kinder. And we got a mountain of food at my grandma's. I don't know if people do this up north, but down here whenever someone dies everyone brings food. By the time about 30 people have brought a main course, two sides, and a dessert, plus other stuff trickling in...Well, I'm sure it's the most I've eaten this year, at least.
Oh, and this is amusing, at least to me--my mom is pretty much the only one around our area with a purple van. So my dad wanted to be funny, and was waiting for her out at the mailbox. When he saw her coming up the road, he waited for her to get close enough, then mooned her. Only, it wasn't her ^^; He spent the rest of the day hiding behind the house and hoping the cops didn't come for him. We still don't know who it was, but they got an eyefull, that's for sure.
I finished watching Emma, and am sad about the ending. It was a wonderful show, but I can't believe it ended that way. Also finished Ah My Goddess TV, and loved it immensely. I have kind of a soft spot for AMG, as a picture of Belldandy in a gaming magazine when I was like 13 was what made me really fall in love with the art style. I watched Unico and stuff like that when I was little, but it was Belldandy that led me on the path to be the fan I am today ^o^ Sokyuu no Fafner continues to be good...I'm getting toward the end of it. It's like Eva, only more interesting. Eva is good, but overhyped. I'm thinking about starting Samurai Champloo next for some fun, mindless samurai action. GSeed and Fafner are so dark ^^; I'd like to watch more Inuyasha, but it's just getting nowhere. And I hear it does that for the rest of the series. Ah well, that's enough out of me. Looking forward to Otakon!

I'm very sorry to hear about your grandpa, though I understand what you mean about how everyone feels like it's kinder that it happened. It was the same way about my grandpa, though a bit more unexpected, but still kinder. I'm sure it will be that way when my grandma, who has Alzheimer's, passes away, too. She's been gone mentally for two years, so in a way, she's already passed on.
I guess that sounds weird, but it's true.
And yes - so much food up here. Especially ham sandwiches. I don't know how it got started, but that's the thing to bring.
Your dad = hilarious.
::hug:: Hope you continue to do well!
